Graduate Admissions
At SLU we are committed to working with students to fulfill their lifelong career goals. We understand that graduate education is challenging, and that each student is unique. So we respond to each student's individual needs by designing programs that maximize their academic potential.
Our graduate degree programs are designed by professionals to address specific needs. A graduate degree from SLU will advance your career, increase your earning potential, and make you an important player in your field.
Most MA and PhD programs consist of 36-45 credits, which include 12 to 15 courses. A maximum of 12 credits culminating experience and/or transferred courses can be applied towards the program.
Certificate programs consist of 15-24 credits, which are 5 to 8 courses. A maximum of 6 credits culminating experience and/or transferred courses can be applied towards the degree program.
To be awarded the degree or certificate, the student must complete all required courses and internships or dissertation with the minimum of a "B" Grade.
Application Process
Step 1: Apply for Admission
Complete the Application for Graduate Admission and
Pay non-refundable 25.000 for domestic students graduate application fee.
Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.
Submit official test scores (if applicable).
Submit proof of citizenship (e.g. birth certificate, National ID Card or passport)
Submit 500 - 750 Words Letter of Intent* (and Resume where applicable)
*A letter of intent should include all or some of the following points:
- address an applicant's preparedness for graduate study, ability to succeed at the graduate level and professional goals and objectives.
- address what the applicant expects to achieve through graduate level study in his or her intended program of study.
- indicate how the applicant's past experiences have prepared him or her for graduate study.
- indicate how the applicant's past experiences have prepared him or her for a graduate degree in Public History and to succeed at the graduate level.
- address what the applicant expects to achieve through graduate level study. The letter should be typed and a maximum of 750 words in length.

Admissions into graduate programs is on a rolling bases. However, the application for admission, non-refundable application fee, official transcripts and other required documents should be submitted at least 30 days to the intended start date. We advise that you apply early to give yourself enough time to complete your documents.
